Proverbs 3:5
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.

Where do I need both wisdom and discernment today?
Psalms 22:3 NASB
3 A prudent person sees evil and hides himself,
But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty.
How does trusting God guide my decisions?
Psalms 37:5 NASB
5 Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
What kind of wisdom prepares me for eternity?
Luke 12:13-21 NASB
13 Now someone in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me.” 14 But He said to him, “You there—who appointed Me a judge or arbitrator over the two of you?” 15 But He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one is affluent does his life consist of his possessions.” 16 And He told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man was very productive. 17 And he began thinking to himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?’ 18 And he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and I will store all my grain and my goods there. 19 And I will say to myself, “You have many goods stored up for many years to come; relax, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!”’ 20 But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is demanded of you; and as for all that you have prepared, who will own it now?’ 21 Such is the one who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich in relation to God.”
How does God redefine what it means to be wise?
Job 28:12-28 NASB
12 “But where can wisdom be found?
And where is the place of understanding?
13 Mankind does not know its value,
Nor is it found in the land of the living.
14 The ocean depth says, ‘It is not in me’;
And the sea says, ‘It is not with me.’
15 Pure gold cannot be given in exchange for it,
Nor can silver be weighed as its price.
16 It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir,
In precious onyx, or sapphire.
17 Gold or glass cannot equal it,
Nor can it be exchanged for articles of pure gold.
18 Coral and crystal are not to be mentioned;
And the acquisition of wisdom is more valuable than pearls.
19 The topaz of Cush cannot equal it,
Nor can it be valued in pure gold.
20 Where then does wisdom come from?
And where is this place of understanding?
21 It is hidden from the eyes of every living creature,
And concealed from the birds of the sky.
22 Abaddon and Death say,
‘With our ears we have heard a report of it.’
23 “God understands its way,
And He knows its place.
24 For He looks to the ends of the earth;
He sees everything under the heavens.
25 When He imparted weight to the wind,
And assessed the waters by measure,
26 When He made a limit for the rain,
And a course for the thunderbolt,
27 Then He saw it and declared it;
He established it and also searched it out.
28 And to mankind He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;
And to turn away from evil is understanding.’”
How does humility protect me from foolishness?
Proverbs 15:31-33 NASB
31 One whose ear listens to a life-giving rebuke
Will stay among the wise.
32 One who neglects discipline rejects himself,
But one who listens to a rebuke acquires understanding.
33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom,
And before honor comes humility.
What matters more to me: knowledge or wisdom?
Proverbs 16:16 NASB
16 How much better it is to get wisdom than gold!
And to get understanding is to be chosen above silver.
How does wisdom shape the way I speak?
Colossians 4:5-6 NASB
5 Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. 6 Your speech must always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.
Am I living wisely with the time God has given me?
Ephesians 5:15-17 NASB
15 So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, 16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
How does awe of God deepen wisdom?
Romans 11:33-36 NASB
33 Oh, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! 34 For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? 35 Or who has first given to Him that it would be paid back to him? 36 For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.
What is God’s wisdom worth to me?
Matthew 13:44-46 NASB
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells everything that he has, and buys that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, 46 and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold everything that he had and bought it.
What kind of wisdom is guiding my words and actions?
Proverbs 4:5-9 NASB
5 Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding!
Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
6 Do not abandon her, and she will guard you;
Love her, and she will watch over you.
7 The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom;
And with all your possessions, acquire understanding.
8 Prize her, and she will exalt you;
She will honor you if you embrace her.
9 She will place on your head a garland of grace;
She will present you with a crown of beauty.”
Am I listening to God’s Word or putting it into practice?
Proverbs 10:8 NASB
8 The wise of heart will receive commands,
But a babbling fool will come to ruin.
